Fukushima, TaekoResearch into the Life-courses of Returnees to Japan

Nowadays, many Japanese people work in foreign countries. Then their children may spend their time abroad. This study focuses on them. In this paper, I argue that an experience in a foreign country in childhood influences their lives and how experience in a foreign country connects to their ways of thinking toward their lives. Firstly, I do this by trying to answer the following questions: How the experience of living long-term in a foreign country affect their lives (attitudes about marriage, career and belief about childrearing)? I built upon the work of others. I first look at how returnees adapt back to the life of Japan. I then look at the change of status of returnees, before looking specially at the consciousness of returnees toward foreigners and foreign countries. Finally, I conducted my own fieldwork by questionnaire and interview. This gives me the data I needed to draw some conclusions about the relation between the experiences and their ways of thinking. In the end, I was able to show that the returnees are influenced positively by their international experiences in childhood to varying degrees nonetheless their situations abroad were different.

Futazuka, MinamiChinese Consumers' Behavior in Tourism in Toyama Prefecture

These days, a lot of foreign tourists visit Japan and we can see them at stations, stores and so on. In particular, the number of Chinese people who visit Japan is increasing rapidly and they have a big effect on the Japanese economy. However, this phenomenon affects only large cities such as Tokyo and Osaka. Chinese tourists tend to concentrate on large cities and they rarely visit provincial cities. I think that the gaps between large cities and regional cities has to be closed. I did this primarily by trying to answer following question: Where do Chinese tourists visit in Japan? Are Chinese people interested in traveling regional cities? I tried to answer these questions focusing on Toyama prefecture because Toyama is a regional city and Toyama gets attention recently owing to the Hokuriku Shinkansen. I built upon the work of others in two areas. I first looked at the effect of Chinese tourists from an international and domestic point of view, which give me a sense of how the number is changing. And then, I looked at how Toyama prefecture grapples with inbound business. Finally, I conducted my own research by questionnaire about Toyama. This research will give me the data about developments and trends in Chinese people and I will discover any possibility to promote Toyama.

Gemma, AyakaThe Priority of University Students

It will be able to be said that the way of thinking to university in Japan has changed because of the change of the society. In Japan, some students have the explicit priority that they think studying is the most important at school, but other students prefer to play than to study in spite of they go to university. In general, the people who want to enter university have to take and pass the entrance exam. Moreover, some departments along the students' curiosities or dreams are usually installed in universities. This shows the common understanding that "university is the place where to study" among the people, especially high school students who want to go there. China or Taiwan, where are in Asia as the same area with Japan, is famous for the enthusiastic countries for studying. Thus, I will suggest and finally try to answer this research question: What are the causes of conflict between studying priorities and playing priorities among university students in Japan? I will investigate the backgrounds and the problems of each side, studying priority and playing priority. By revealing them, I will catch the information of Japanese social history of studying and university. This will somewhat give me the answer to research questions. I will also interview some Japanese students and foreign students. Finally, I will compare Japanese university students with the other countries I will ask my questions and check against the results with information from my investigation. This will give me the outlook of the conflict in the future.

This research analyzed the feeling or the thoughts that students got from their experience. The images of success or impression, development of themselves and conducting that volunteer works gave the students confidence of themselves through the receiving of thanks from others. The image of pleasure about volunteer works leads students to participate in volunteer activities again. By doing the volunteer works, students not only give someone the kindness and are helpful but also become full of sensitivity or grow up. Kawakami, RyuichiIs Seikei a Good University?

Anyways, let me get straight to the point. As a result, I found that almost of all students of Seikei University were satisfied with facilities of Seikei University and its campus itself as I expected. But they don't like some of facilities or features of Seikei University. Basically, they don't like 3 thing. Distance from Kichjoji Station (which is the nearest station), Cafeterias and CC Wi-Fi. But at the same time, they legit like some of facilities and functions of it like its cleanliness, the amount of greenery, its exterior and the fact that Seikei University is in Kichjoji. Also I got some raw opinions from the real insights. I would say it's kind of hard to resolve those problems I found this time, but it's so easy to make CC Wi-Fi better.

Based on paper work result, I conducted my fieldwork in Seikei University by using survey question. Finally, I investigated that the influence of YouTube video did not show in the youth in Japan. Research papers and my own data let me reach to my own conclusion about YouTube advertisements that is although many researchers state that YouTube video advertisement is a new influential marketing method, their advertisement is not influential towards university students in Japan today. In addition, the sensitiveness to internet advertising and selection of internet information among the youth in Japan is related to the statement.

This study is why they are not interested in it and to think the consciousness of Japanese politics. In these back grounds is aging population. Therefore, Japanese government should increase the percentage of voting population. Moreover, I argued that Japanese young people cannot explain their feeling directly, because Japanese education does not include the class of expiation。So, I suggest that Japanese education should include citizenship class such as the U.K. It brings Japanese young people more attractive and they can explain their feeling eve if that topics is politics. Nowadays, women's empowerment and gender equality internationally catch the attention of the people in the world. However, Japan is said to be behind in both of them. This study focuses on the difficulty of women's empowerment and gender equality in Japan. In fact, there are many factors of the difficulty of women's empowerment and gender equality regarding Japanese social system. However, assumptions that Japanese people naturally have toward gender are more considerable problems than Japanese social system itself. In this paper, I will argue that traditional assumption deeply rooted in Japanese society are appearing in the difficulty of women's empowerment in Japan. I will try to find answers to the following questions regarding individuals' assumptions: How do traditional assumptions remain in Japanese society? What are the solutions for changing the current situations regarding gender? I conducted my primary research by using questionnaire, and investigated people's assumptions. The result of my primary research shows that gender assumptions seem to be appearing in choosing careers, occupations, and working styles in Japan.
